Replace The Iphone Battery

Apple have made the battery of the iphone built in and hidden behind the cover. The only way to replace the battery of an iphone is took take the outer casing off. I haven’t written a guide to explain to you step by step what you need to do.

Before we get started make sure you have the tools you need and a spare battery. The tools I used when replacing my iphone battery were a micro cross head screw driver, a micro flat head screw driver and a soldering iron.

First off we need to get the case off, the case is strong and will require you to flex it to work it free from the phones body. Take out your simcard and the simcard tray before removing the case. At the opposite end to the headphone socket you will see two small screws either side of the charging socket. Remove these two screws and get your micros flat head screw driver ready.

Once the screws have been removed you the flat head screw driver to pop the case off, you may need to bend the case to help it pop clear of the phones body. Once you have removed the back case you can now see the battery, you’ll notice that the battery wires have been soldered to there connections and it is important you don’t put any pressure on the connectors as you don’t want them to be lifted from the board as the board will need to be replaced.

The new battery should have three wire coming out of it and one has a protective sleeve, make sure you don’t let the wire with the protective sleeve touch either of the other wires as it will short your battery out and you will have to buy another.

Remember where the previous wires where connected to as it is important you solder the new wires to the right place. Once you have replaced your iPhone battery the phone should automatically start, if it doesn’t hold in the home button and the button on the top to reset the phone.
